Our traders’ best bets for two juicy cards at Caulfield and Randwick this Saturday are in!
BEST: RACE 1
Impressive filly OUR CROWN MISTRESS has led from the front to win her last two stylishly, the most recent by 4.25L. She strikes a race with minimal speed at her first go in the city and the slight rise in distance only looks a possibility. We have to trust Waterhouse and Bott extending her first prep to a fourth run and she looks a hard bet to ignore in the first.
Betting tip: OUR CROWN MISTRESS win @ $2.50 fixed
NEXT BEST: RACE 9
FOXPLAY heads south for Chris Waller after three strong runs this preparation, twice running a place behind Winx before a good run from well back in the Group 1 Epsom. The drop to 1400m isn’t a concern and she looks to get a cosy run behind a genuine tempo from barrier four. With luck in running she looks the class runner and can score another stakes victory.
Betting tip: FOXPLAY win @ GOAT Top
EACH-WAY: RACE 6
The Moonga Stakes looks like being a fascinating betting race and GRANDE ROSSO could be a value contender. He was a strong performer when close to a hot tempo in the Sir Rupert Clarke and this assignment looks far more suitable. With the ideal suck run on the speed map, he looks a good each-way bet.
Betting tip: GRANDE ROSSO each-way @ GOAT Top
BEST BET: RACE 7
Ron Quinton’s two star mares have run the quinella at their last two starts, but dropping from 1600m to 1200m here leaves us with DAYSEE DOOM on top. She’s perhaps the nippier of the two and is a proven winner dropping in trip. Her fitness should see her running right through the line and she looks the best of the day.
Betting tip: DAYSEE DOOM win @ $6.00 fixed
NEXT BEST: RACE 6
Consistent sprinter SINGLE BULLET is presented third up here having twice run second to the unbeaten Viridine this prep. He stays at 1200m and maps for a one-one run in transit. There’s no Viridine here and the rest he’s either been beating home or have been running in lower rating races. The one to gun down.
Betting tip: SINGLE BULLET win @ GOAT Top
EACH WAY: RACE 9
ISORICH has produced tough on-pace victories at this track and trip in similar grade at his last two starts and the price on offer is simply too good to refuse. Yes, the SP profile isn’t quite there ($21 both wins) but he’s the definite map horse of the field and shouldn’t be facing too much pressure up front. A place heavy wager (1 x 3) appeals.
Betting tip: ISORICH each-way @ $14.00/$3.90 fixed
